How To Tell Good Vitamins
From Bad One's

Here's how to tell good vitamins from the average run-of-the-mill variety.  There are many factors to consider and you will need to consult the manufacturer to learn whether or not they take some of these necessary steps during production.  But, this should give you an idea of what to ask them.

Does the manufacturer select the best sources for the nutrients in your products?  The answer, of course should be "yes".

There are many sources for the vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that are typically found in nutritional supplements.  For example, vitamin A can be sourced from animals or vegetables.  The animal sources are toxic at high doses.  So, obviously, vegetables are the best source.

Does the manufacturer use only natural vitamins in your products?  Again, the answer should be "yes".

Many years ago, scientists learned that they could create synthetic vitamins that were molecularly similar, if not identical to naturally occurring ones.  Since they are creating using byproducts from the petroleum industry, they are very cheap and readily available.

Over the years, thousands of studies have been conducted concerning the cancer preventative effects of antioxidants.  But, these results cannot be duplicated using the synthetic form of the vitamins.  So, looking for all natural ingredients is a big part of how to tell good vitamins.

Does the manufacture test each raw ingredient for mercury, lead and other toxic substances?  You would think that this is always the case.  But the truth about dietary supplements is that most of them are not tested for contaminants and they should be.

Take fish oil, for example.  Most of the fish on the planet have been contaminated, to some degree, with mercury, because they swim in waters that have been polluted with it.  PCBs have also contaminated many of the oceans of the world.

If the manufacture does not test for mercury and PCBs or if they allow have levels of these toxic substances, then taking the supplement can be damaging to your long term health.  Obviously, you are looking for health benefits, because you want to know how to tell good vitamins from the bad.

Does the manufacturer tested each completed batch for lead and other types of contamination that can occur during processing?  Most manufacturers of foodstuff don't even test each batch.  That's why food products are often recalled.

The truth about dietary supplements is that the regulations are much looser than those for food.  So, obviously, individual batches rarely get tested for contaminants.

The only manufacturer that I have found that could answer "yes" to all of these questions is Xtend-life Total Balance.  Warren Matthews, the company's founder, decided that he wanted to sell health supplements.  He traveled to dozens of different manufacturing facilities and evaluated thousands of products.

After several months, he realized that he could provide a best ingredients and still have an affordable product to sell.  He learned how to tell good vitamins from bad.  As a result, we can improve our health and possibly extend our lives, without spending a fortune.  Thanks Warren!
